A Message from the SIT – Needing volunteers

A Message from the SIT – Needing volunteers

March 31, 2020 Posted by kofc2439admin Public

NOTE:  The St. Anthony Council is part of the Santiam Service Integration Team, and is supporting this effort.  Read more about how you can help, and how you can refer people in need.

A message from Melissa Baurer, Service Integration/Community Liaison Coordinator.

Hello Service Integration Team Members,

Santiam Service Integration will be implementing a service called, SIT MOBILE in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This service will begin on Thursday, April 2nd.

This program will rely on the amazing programs already in place like United Way, Knights of Columbus, Mill City Christian Church and new volunteers (SIT Members and Community Folks). If interested in volunteering please complete the following survey as soon as possible. Our start date is Thursday! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/D79GXML

SIT MOBILE will have a base operation out of Sublimity in partnership with Ditters Town Square. SIT MOBILE’s phone number is 503-409-3652 and email is [email protected].

How will this work? If someone is needing help with basic household items, food, or picking up of prescriptions they would contact SIT MOBILE at 503-409-3652 and leave a detailed message of the help they are needing with their contact information. A SIT MOBILE Volunteer will then call the household and discuss the needs and put together a box of items available. One of our SIT Mobile Drivers will then deliver the items to their doorstep. Included in the box will be education and awareness of the COVID-19 Virus.

SIT MOBILE will be working closely with Stayton, Turner, and Aumsville Police Departments. They have volunteered to pick up and deliver prescriptions to anyone who contacts SIT mobile with this need.

We want to thank Ditters Town Square, SCTC, and our Service Integration Teams Members who have made this possible. Special thanks to United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley and Maps Credit Union for providing startup funds to assist with our mission. If you would like to help financially, please contact SIT MOBILE.

Questions- please email the [email protected]. Robert or myself will respond as quickly as possible.

THANK YOU!
