Why I'm a Knight

  • “I joined the Knights to meet Catholic men in the community and work with them to serve the community.”

John King - St. Anthony Council
  • “My dad was a Charter Member in Gervais Council 5842 and he had me active in council activities long before I turned 18. When I turned 18 in 1972, I couldn’t wait to join the Knights of Columbus…”

Ron Bernt - St. Anthony Council
  • “Why do I continue to be a Knight? Where else can you pray and serve our Lord and Savior with like minded men? I have not found a better place.”

Paul Odenthal - St. Anthony Council
  • “For fellowship with other Knights, plus I feel good about the impact the Knights have on the community.”

Eric Smith - St. Anthony Council
  • “I was invited by two men I know and respect.  God calls on us to live our faith and to serve Him by serving others. The Knights of Columbus provides me the opportunity to support causes important to me, and to serve beside like-minded men.”

Ed Diehl - St. Anthony Council
  • “For one, I joined because my father-in-law has been a member of the Albany Knights of Columbus for over fifty years. …… (Also) my son was a member of the Knight of Columbus (too) so the thought of spending more time with him was another great reason to join. Lastly I wanted to be around men that shared some of the same family values and would encourage me to uphold those values in my own home.”

Dan King - St. Anthony Council
  • “Following in the footsteps of my ancestors in the Etzel and Silbernagel families, most especially my Dad Albin and his brothers, I made the decision to join the Knights while in my early 20’s. …… I have had wonderful experiences, as well as opportunities to work with many wonderful Catholic gentlemen, serving alongside them while supporting the works of the Knights of Columbus.”

Ron Etzel - St. Anthony Council
  • “The fellowship of the brotherhood.”

Glenn Hilton - St. Anthony Council
  • “I joined the Knights for a sense of community and to be closer to my family roots. I also joined the Knights to have a chance to serve with fellow Catholics.”

Miles Dodge - St. Anthony Council
