A legacy of community leadership

St. Anthony Council was founded in 1923. Our charter class was initiated on February 5, 1923.

Since our founding in 1923, St. Anthony Council 2439 has focused on serving our community and neighbors  Our men come from the following communities: Immaculate Conception (Stayton), St. Boniface (Sublimity), Our Lady of Lourdes (Jordan), St. Catherine of Siena (Mill City), St. Bernard (Scio), and St. Patrick Mission (Lyons).

In 1979 the St. Anthony Council was recognized as the Oregon State Council of the Year.

We sponsor many events for our council, parishes, families, and the community throughout the year. Some of the activities include, Mothers Day Breakfast, Adopt-A-Highway, Keep Christ in Christmas, Easter Egg Hunt, Annual Freethrow Contest, Christmas Basket Deliveries. We also sponsor money making activities including Steak Fry’s, Christmas Cheer Raffle, and a Crab Feed.

St. Anthony Council has donated money to many worthy causes over the years including, Father Taaffe Foundation, Regis Auction, Regis Athletic Association, Seminarian RSVP Fund, Regis-St. Mary Appeal, Keep Christ in Christmas, Seminary Donations, Morality in Media and many others.

A Charitable Organization is Born

The origins of Knights of Columbus

The needs of immigrants and families suffering from the death of the breadwinner led Father Michael J. McGivney to respond by founding the Knights of Columbus, a fraternal benefit society that has grown into a worldwide financial and charitable organization.
