Please support our Christmas Community Service Program

Please support our Christmas Community Service Program

November 20, 2019 Posted by kofc2439admin Public

Each year our council comes together to celebrate Christmas and community service.  The St. Anthony Council, along with community members and generous partners, collects non-perishable food donations and combines those with purchased perishable food to make up food baskets for needy families in the area.  These families receive a turkey and all the trimmings for their Christmas dinner, as well as enough food to last several weeks.  Last year we supplied food boxes for 15 families.  We plan to deliver over 20 baskets this year.

Our Christmas Community Service Program also supports victims of disaster.  In the past we have provided food, clothing, and lodging to families burned out of their homes.

Our council has a potluck celebration each year where we raise money for our Community Service Program.  On December 13th our Brother Knights and their spouses will come together to purchase raffle tickets and hold a silent auction.  Many generous local businesses donate items for the raffle and auction, while other business provide cash donations that go directly to our Community Service Fund.  The next morning, on December 14th, Brother Knights will deliver the food baskets.

How you can help

We invite everyone in our community to help us with this effort.

  1. If you know of a family in the community that would benefit from a food basket, please contact us at [email protected] or 503.765.5738.
  2. If you would like to provide items for our silent auction or a cash donation to our Community Service Fund, please contact us at the email and phone above.  Cash donations can be mailed to Knights of Columbus St. Anthony Council 2439, P.O. Box 264, Sublimity, OR 97385.

Please reach out by December 6th to make sure we are prepared before our potluck and food basket delivery.

With your help we can make this another successful program and “Keep Christ in Christmas.”

God Bless,

Kendall R Smith
Christmas Community Service Program Chairman
