You Are Born a MAN. You Become a KNIGHT.

Charity – Unity – Fraternity – Patriotism

Men of Principle

St. Anthony Council is devoted to good works in our neighborhoods, churches, schools and around the world. All the good works we do are informed by our four core principles.

Men in Community

From feeding families in need, to supporting youth athletics, to supporting alternatives to abortion, the St. Anthony Council supports many causes important to our community.

Men of Action

Our council offers men a place to lead their families and communities in faith and service. As Catholic men, this is what God calls us to do. Put your Faith in Action.

Charity

Our Catholic faith teaches us to “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” The St. Anthony Knights of Columbus show love for our neighbors by conducting food drives and donating the food to local soup kitchens and food pantries, by providing food to families in need during the holidays, by volunteering at numerous community events, and by supporting, both spiritually and materially, mothers who choose life for their babies. Knights recognize that our mission, and our faith in God, compels us to action. There is no better way to experience love and compassion than by helping those in need, a call we answer every day.

Unity

None of us is as good as all of us. St. Anthony Knights of Columbus all know that – together – we can accomplish far more than any of us could individually. So we stick together…we support one another. That doesn’t mean that we always agree or that there is never a difference of opinion. It does mean that – as a Knight of Columbus – you can count on the support and encouragement of your brother Knights as you work to make life better in your parish and community.

Fraternity

Venerable Michael J. McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus, in large part, to provide assistance to the widows and children left behind when the family breadwinner died – often prematurely. The Order’s top-rated insurance program continues to do this today, as do the good works of individual Knights, who gave more than 77 million service hours in 2020, illustrating how Catholics serve each other in fraternity and mercy.

Patriotism

Members of the St. Anthony Knights of Columbus are patriotic citizens. We are proud of our devotion to God and country, and believe in standing up for both. Whether it’s in public or private, the Knights remind the world that Catholics support their nations and are amongst the greatest citizens.

Why We Are Knights

“I was invited by two men I know and respect. God calls on us to live our faith and to serve Him by serving others. The Knights of Columbus provides me the opportunity to support causes important to me, and to serve beside like-minded men.”
Ed Diehl
“For one, I joined because my father-in-law has been a member of the Albany Knights of Columbus for over fifty years. …… (Also) my son was a member of the Knight of Columbus (too) so the thought of spending more time with him was another great reason to join. Lastly I wanted to be around men that shared some of the same family values and would encourage me to uphold those values in my own home.”
Dan King
“My dad was a Charter Member in Gervais Council 5842 and he had me active in council activities long before I turned 18. When I turned 18 in 1972, I couldn’t wait to join the Knights of Columbus…”
